Nerdiest Thing I Own: Landon

The nerdiest thing I own is, hands down, without a doubt, my Mortal Kombat 1st Edition "Blood and Thunder" issue #1. I bought it when I was about 8 years old at a garage sale for 50 cents and remember thinking, "Oh my God, this is going to be worth thousands one day." Turns out, it's worth about $3 - $6 any time I've looked, but I could never flip it. I love Mortal Kombat, and have since I got a Super Nintendo for my 6th birthday. First game I rented? Mortal Kombat 3. I think it was Scorpion, Sub Zero, Reptile, Rain, etc. that got me hooked. Their outfits were so cool. They were ninjas that could punch you in half somehow, or take off their mask and reveal that they are actually a fire-breathing skeleton (presumably from Hell,) what's not to like? It could be worth the "thousands" I predicted as a child and I still wouldn't sell it. Maybe it's the dialogue, like Johnny Cage's "Lights, camera, TRACTION!" when he kicks Kano in the face, or maybe it's the fact that it reminds me of the 3 round matches against my dad, where I always played Reptile (I thought the limp-wrist stance was gnar,) but I'm fairly certain this comic book will always be the nerdiest thing I own.

This is brilliant! I am impressed in Landon's taste, although I was a Liu Kang fan.
