Nerdiest Thing I Own: Ryan T.

I was torn between a few things when trying to think of the nerdiest thing I own. I'll mention the runner-ups first.

1) My mid-high end gaming computer with a 23" LED monitor.

2) A CM Storm Sentinel Advance gaming mouse purchased for my birthday by KnownAsTron. A very thoughtful gift, as I use my computer every day.

What kind of nerdy asian doesn't like video games? Like white people dominating Hockey and black people dominating Basketball, we dominate the video gaming aspect. I purchased these at the annual Poster Sale on campus in Term 1 and can't wait til they return in Term 2 so I can buy more. I highly suggest checking these games out as I'd say they are some of the best games of 2011. I plan to "nerd-out" one of my room walls with solely video game posters. (Not pictured, but I also bought a Hong Kong and Bruce Lee poster which I plan to buy variants of when they come back for Term 2)

Nerdiest Thing I Own: Landon

The nerdiest thing I own is, hands down, without a doubt, my Mortal Kombat 1st Edition "Blood and Thunder" issue #1. I bought it when I was about 8 years old at a garage sale for 50 cents and remember thinking, "Oh my God, this is going to be worth thousands one day." Turns out, it's worth about $3 - $6 any time I've looked, but I could never flip it. I love Mortal Kombat, and have since I got a Super Nintendo for my 6th birthday. First game I rented? Mortal Kombat 3. I think it was Scorpion, Sub Zero, Reptile, Rain, etc. that got me hooked. Their outfits were so cool. They were ninjas that could punch you in half somehow, or take off their mask and reveal that they are actually a fire-breathing skeleton (presumably from Hell,) what's not to like? It could be worth the "thousands" I predicted as a child and I still wouldn't sell it. Maybe it's the dialogue, like Johnny Cage's "Lights, camera, TRACTION!" when he kicks Kano in the face, or maybe it's the fact that it reminds me of the 3 round matches against my dad, where I always played Reptile (I thought the limp-wrist stance was gnar,) but I'm fairly certain this comic book will always be the nerdiest thing I own.

This is brilliant! I am impressed in Landon's taste, although I was a Liu Kang fan.

Nerdiest Thing I Own: Su Ming

I had to think hard of the geekiest/nerdiest item I own. A day later I came up with it, a Street Fighter II Movie VCD. When I was younger I never had a game console for my television, but my cousin had a large SNES collection. I was influenced by the things he liked, he introduced me to Street Fighter. I have been playing it since I was two. I used to watch anime with him too and I remember him showing me the majority of Street Fighter movies as well. He gave me this VCD, it's not in English and doesn't even include subtitles (I have seen it in English before). I just watch the fight scenes and remember the story.

Thanks James.
