Air Jordan V | Fire Red

The Jordan V "Fire Red" will be releasing this Saturday (August 31, 2013) in Canada. This here is my favourite Jordan silhouette, accompanied by one of my favourite colour ways. I can't wait to get my hands on a pair of these! The full grain upper, black tongue and midsole have really sold the shoe to me. I remember back in 2006 when I wanted these. These will be available at Foot Locker and Momentum on 8th Street for about $200.

Water Park | Acephalous

Water Park consists of artists Thomas Hart and Jordan Bechtel. The two had met randomly and in no time they were jamming with each other. Thomas is on the mic and Jordan plays the drums, bass, guitar and keys. This is their first time releasing music under their band Water Park, they have selected to record and share two songs. Give a listen above, I'm sure these guys have much more planned.

Just a Taste: The Granary

Just recently my parents and I went to the Granary for birthday appetizers. I have only eaten surf and turf entrees at the restaurant, so this was a new experience.

Location
The restaurant is located on 8th Street behind the KFC and RBC Bank closer to the Circle Drive overpass.

Environment
The weather was beautiful so we ate on the patio, from my surprise I also learned that minors are able to be seated outside as well. Many tables of four are evenly distributed outside with plants placed strategically to make your experience feel more intimate. The main dining area indoors is great for special occasions, the dimmed lights and professional service is always a pleasure. And you can't forget about their little salad bar, I always loved starting my meal there.

Menu
Like I mentioned previously, I really only focused on the appetizers but steak and seafood options are always mouthwatering. There were about ten options and below you can read about what we selected. A small drink menu of beers, martinis, wines and cocktails is also available.

Food
We started off with complimentary sourdough bread and ordered the crisp crusted calamari, crab and spinach artichoke dip, scallops wrapped in bacon and the salt and pepper dry ribs. The food came quick and was served hot. I also ordered a Saskatoon Berry iced tea that is similar to my favourite Summer beverage, the Long Island iced tea.

The calamari is one of the best in the city, a light crispy batter covers majority of the squid and is complimented by a cucumber dill dip. For those who are turned off by tentacles, you won't see any here! The crab and spinach artichoke dip didn't look appealing in my opinion but tasted great, the portion of dip matched the chips perfectly. Almost everything goes great with bacon, which is why we chose the bacon wrapped scallops, the crispy and soft textures go together great. They came with a side of cocktail sauce, but I found them flavourful on their own. Lastly was the dry ribs, I don't think salt and pepper dry ribs are bad anywhere. These were good, but weren't a highlight of our meal.

Conclusion
Although I don't eat here often, I do really enjoy it. Now I know it's not just a good place for a steak and lobster but you can come here to relax with drinks and appetizers. The service was spot on too, I'm glad we swung by here.

Close Talker | By The Lake (Official Video)

This is one of my favourite local bands, these guys perform well live and have a good personality on and off the stage. If you haven't seen them yet, I advise you to. They are currently touring western Canada. It's nice to see these Saskatoon faces and locations too!

Lupe Fiasco - SLR 2

NSFW

Lupe wasn't too happy that he was disregarded as a threat to Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse. He is working hard to show the public that he is still relevant and a top lyricist rather than a rapper.

FIFA 14 | Gameplay Trailer

FIFA is still among one of our favourite past times between my circle of friends. Over the past few years, the game has gotten much better. From graphics to the realistic situations in the game of soccer, there has definitely been improvements made by EA. I can't wait for the release, you'll have to add my PSN in the future if you want to tango.

Meals Interrupted by Davide Luciano & Claudia Ficca

Just a taste isn't always good conversation, food exploring and point and shoots. Sometimes shit hits the fan and the sitting doesn't end up going as you want... ew.

Art couple Davide Luciano & Claudia Ficca, a fine art photographer and food stylist respectively, teamed up to create uncomfortable settings in elaborate dining table experiences with the "Meals Interrupted" photo series. Feast your eyes on 'honeyed', 'charred', 'soaked', 'tossed', and 'Al Dente' below.

If they were to do an overview of my Meal Interrupted it will be called 'shop till you drop'. The table would be my bed filled with Doritos, empty chip bags and unopened 2 litre Gatorades. Sprinkled throughout the scene my limbs and beer bottle caps. A late night interrupted by a 4AM mission to 7/11.

Daft Signz | Lose Yourself to Dance

Cool film to Daft Punk's "Lose Yourself to Dance". It includes a bunch of dudes dancing with signs with similar messages in LA. I have never seen anything like this, it's both unique and surprising that someone came up with this idea. Every individual has their own style and own moves, most look difficult even without large signs.

England Matters | Episode 1: Daniel Sturridge & Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Nike works alongside the English national squad to produce a documentary and insight to the lives of some of the members of the team. I am not sure exactly how long this may go for, but it would be unreal for it to lead all of the way up to the 2014 Brazil World Cup

Air Jordan IV | Green Glow

On August 17, 2013, the Jordan IV "Green Glow" will be released to the public. This is a new colour way that has been splashed on the Jordan IV. But don't be mistaken, these don't glow in the dark but instead are meant to illuminate with regular lighting. The green glow pops nicely in contrast to its dark grey nubuck upper. This pair is crazy, I wish you the best of luck on getting your hands on these! I would recommend going to Momentum 8th or Foot Locker with a measly $200.

HYPETRAK | Stalley Interview

Hypetrak met with MMG's Stalley to get his opinion and story on questions and topics. Stalley has stood out to me as an artist, but more so as a man. He seems like one of those celebrities that has not been affected by money or fame. Stalley talks about his new mixtape that dropped yesterday called Honest Cowboy, the music industry, DJ Khaled's proposal to Nicki Minaj and some words of wisdom for the viewers.

Let's Chat: Osheaga Pt. 2

Hi I'm back from Osheaga.

It was my first time in Montreal and I can only say great things about that city. Everybody is friendly, the mood is laid back and the food is next level. We stayed in a hostel for four days and it did its job. Granted it looked really run down but that was a part of the experience. It was still clean, so that was fine.

The festival itself was a whole different ball game. I've never been in a place so crowded, never have I stood for so long, never have I sweated so much, never have I chugged so much water. That being said, never have I had that much fun in my life.

I saw a lot of shows, discovered new bands, lost all respect for an artist I once liked (Google: K-OS Osheaga), and raised my hands like I was giving out energy for a spirit bomb.

I can go on and on about the bands/artists I saw, but these are the cats that stood out the most.

Rudimental put on an unreal show and I'm so happy I caught them because, let's be honest, they'll never come to Saskatoon.

Disclosure is a band I'm head over heels for right now. The show was great, and they even brought Jessie Ware on stage to perform a few songs.

Capital Cities, I had no idea who these guys were, but they started off the festival and that was a hell of way to go.

Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaries, this man here, hands down, best show in the festival. I was supposed to go see Icona Pop instead but the second this guy belted his first note, I was all ears.

Mumford & Sons, I never listened to these guys a whole lot, but they could make me cry.

Azari & III, these guys were entertaining as shit.

MNDR, it was a 30 minute show but she worked it.

Kendrick Lamar, duh.

The only one thing that was upsetting was the fact that Frank Ocean had to cancel because of a torn vocal cord. Miguel was supposed to perform in place of him, so that would've been alright, but he too also cancelled to be at Toronto's OVO fest. So the person who replaced Miguel was K-OS. Naturally I vetoed that, probably ate poutine and spent the rest of the time in an outhouse because K-OS is horribly unappreciative and disrespectful to his fans and music in general. GRR

If you ever get the chance to go to a festival, absolutely do it. Going in, I only really wanted to see a few artists/bands, but I left loving even more.

I know for a fact that I'm going back next year. Might even be a yearly thing for me.

NBC | English Premier League Commercial

With NBC now presenting the EPL season in North America, they created a commercial to introduce it. Jason Sudeikis plays an American football coach who must now learn how to coach English soccer. It's a funny advertisement and I am happy for another channel to play EPL games.

Hot Wheels created a six-story high double loop last year at the X-Games for professional drivers Tanner Froust and Greg Tracy to complete. Watch the video and take a look at how this came to be.

HOV performs and entertains fans and other respected artists face to face as well as allows the performers to display their personal talents.

New Balance | 574 SPK (Black)

I just picked up these New Balance 574's a couple of days ago. If you know me personally, you may notice that I favour my beaten and discoloured Free Run 2's. I have been looking for an every day shoe so I figured that these would satisfy me. They feel great, like most runners I half sized up. If you didn't know, New Balance originally made arch supports rather than footwear. The New Balance series looks good in both shorts and pants, I recommend that you slip a pair on. You can find New Balance at stores like Momentum on 8th and Town Shoes.

adidas | The New Speed of Light

adidas' star man Messi, is featured in a new commercial to present his F50 adiZero. I know in the city especially, the F50 collection is probably the most popular. Once again, I believe this model will be synthetic only. Talk to the guys and girls of Xtratime to get informed on when these drop.
