Just a Taste: Somewhere Else Pub and Grill

Location
Somewhere Else is located on Broadway Avenue. Far South(?) across the street from John Lake Elementary School.

Environment
There is one large dim room with all sorts of tables. It wasn't too busy when we went for lunch. It kind of reminds me of an Amigo's sort of place. There is a small area for bands to play, a couple of televisions on TSN, outdated decorations and VLT machines. From what I heard, there is usually only one server during lunch. Service is a bit slow, but she really does everything she can to help everyone.

Menu
The lunch meals ranged from around $9-20. This is pretty standard for most pub and bar food from my experiences. They also have daily soup and appetizer specials. Wednesday's special was $5 wings. The menu had sandwiches, burgers and pub specials, there was a pretty big selection. I was having troubles deciding between the bison burger, vegetarian burger and mango chicken wrap.

Food
We started off with salt and pepper wings. They were really good, the wings were large and not too greasy either! For my main course I ordered a mango chicken wrap (Thanks Brayden). It was really tasty and fresh. The only problem I had it was that the chicken was dry, but I feel like I am more sensitive to this than others. I rarely choose to eat white meat. The mango salsa made up for that, it was very fresh tasting and I love the use of fruits in dishes. The fries were good too, they weren't all that salty and were "meaty" (ironic, I know).

Conclusion
I liked Somewhere Else, next time I would like to try the vegetarian burger. It is sort of out of the way from where I live but it was worth the stop. The food was fresh and the server was polite and kind. Definitely a place to try, I had never heard of it until my friend Brayden told me about it. Thanks again!
