First off, if you haven't heard of Game of Thrones or have heard of Game of Thrones but haven't watched it, you oughta start.
- Because you probably have friends that are likely to let something slip and ruin it for you. Like a friend of mine. Spoiling a big part in season 1. Bastard.
- Because, in my unhumble opinion, it's the best show that's ever been on TV.
I absolutely swear by this show. Not once since the first season of Lost have I been so blown away by television.
"But Johnny, swords and dragons are stupid."
I agree. I'm not too keen on medieval fantasy. Hell it took me a year to actually sit down and watch the first season. Even after watching the first season, I was still kinda on the fence about it. But as the days went by, I gradually wanted to watch season 2 more and more. Suffice to say, season 2 did not disappoint whatsoever.
It's gotten to the point where I've picked up the books and started reading them. And by picked up the books, I mean, bought them, gave up reading the physical books and found a PDF of it online. I know that the TV show has changed a few things, but I'm treating the reads separate from the TV show.
This is a great show, but it does take a bit to wrap your head around all the characters. They tend to name drop left, right and center, even people that aren't even in the show yet. It's a lot to take in, but I have faith you. If I can deal with it, so can you. And I'm pretty slow.
I won't tell you what the show's about. I just want you to watch it so we can chat about it over dinner.
Now I'm gonna go eat something.
