Just a Taste: Fong's Kitchen

The only person I know who enjoys vermicelli as much as me is my father. We have been spending our lunches together trying different Vietnamese restaurants. Today we tried Fong's Kitchen on 33rd. We have not been here since its previous owners. There were eight menu choices that day on a white board including: liver and onions, beef dip, wonton soup, vermicelli, chow mein and fried rice. We ordered vermicelli dishes along with pork salad rolls.

The salad rolls were good, it came with a peanut sauce different from other restaurants. It was a bit thicker sauce, something that I have not had in a while. It was a nice change because I am not fond of thin peanut sauces. If you are allergic to peanuts, let them know before you order because it will come with your vermicelli and pork salad rolls. The vermicelli was tasty as well and the spring rolls were good with a nice crunch. Something different about it was that the fish sauce was pre-mixed in the vermicelli dish.

My father and I got lucky having a couple of bills on us. If you choose to go to Fong's Kitchen they take CASH ONLY.

Love the North
