Essentials: Ryan

Here are some items that I almost never leave the house, whether they are in my backpack, being worn or in my pockets.

I never leave the house without my phone. This thing is my alarm clock, calculator and of course communication device. It has taken a hell of a beating and for the most part has pleased me.

Lip chap is for those cold days, trying to avoid those dry lips. Women don't want that and neither do I.

I bought this leather bracelet from Monacle. All proceeds made were used to help Japan after their natural disaster. I usually wear something on my wrist outside of the house, otherwise I feel naked.

You probably can barely tell what this is, I can't even. But it's my wallet. It's basic and does the job.

I am currently wearing Ray Ban's "New Wayfarer". It's hard to find a pair of sunglasses for my lack of nose bridge but these seem to work. Whether it's Summer or Winter it is always wise to have a pair of shades in the car.

I've had this G-Shock for almost five years now. Back then I got it because it was trendy, now I use it because it's reliable. It has an automatic backlight, stop watch and a long lasting battery. I make sure to have it on me when I am outdoors late or even just to write an exam.

The Canon S95 is perfect for my lifestyle. It's a quality point and shoot camera that I can carry around with ease. This is what I use for my "Just a Taste" posts or when I take videos. If you need one of your own I highly recommend it, they just upgraded to the Canon S100 and it makes me jealous.

Here are some basics: keys to the whip, USB device and a Las Vegas bottle opener. Not much to say about these. I like carrying minimal keys in my pocket and the USB is for school and work. The bottle opener on the other hand stays in my bag for those house parties.

Just a Taste: Jerry's Food Emporium

Today, Aashna and I had a difficult time finding a restaurant serving breakfast past noon other than Grainfields and Denny's. She was craving pancakes and right when we were about to give up we discovered that Jerry's had breakfast until three pm on Sundays and holidays.

Lets go on to the food aspect though. I haven't been to Jerry's Food Emporium for approximately a year and a half and I have no idea why. I must say that the renovations look good, it is a bit cluttered but a definite improvement. Every time I tend to order the fish and chips meal for that tartar sauce but this time I was craving a sandwich. So I went with the Buffalo Chicken Crunch on a ciabatta with their homemade caeser salad. It was nice because the chicken wasn't too saucy but it had a bit too much mayo in my opinion. I would order it again but next time with some fries. Check Jerry's out sometime soon, service is great and meals are prepared quickly.

Essentials: Jason (@knownastron)

These are 7 of my most essential items. Can't leave the house without them. Keep reading for a little rundown on each item!

First and foremost is my beloved BlackBerry Bold 9900. It keeps me connected to my friends through BBM/text-messaging and Twitter/Facebook. Also keeps me updated with what's going on with the news, weather, sports, and the stock market. Can't live without this thing!

Before I get flamed for getting a disc-drive-less MacBook, ask yourself how often do you use the disc-drive on the go? Exactly! The lightweight is such a luxury when you have to carry it around campus all day.

I put these together in the picture because I use the pouch to carry my Magic Mouse (which attaches to my bag). The pouch is Porter by Yoshida, an extremely popular luggage/bag brand from Japan. Why a mouse when I have a track-pad on my MacBook? Because nothing beats the efficiency of a mouse people!

This is my everyday wallet. It is again, Porter by Yoshida. I picked this up in the Spring of 2008 when I visited Japan (picked up the Porter pouch above at the same time). It's been through everything and is still going strong. Japanese craftsmanship ftw!

This is my newest addition to my essentials... not really by choice. But upon knowing I needed glasses, there was no doubt in my mind I wanted Hugo Boss frames.

This is my most prized possession here; my Head Porter laptop bag, made by the same people that do Porter by Yoshida. Head Porter is their more exclusive (more expensive too unfortunately) and street-level line. A good friend picked it up for me while on his trip to Hong Kong. This is a great every day bag, has a compartment for everything I need during the day.

There it is folks, hope everyone enjoyed seeing their loot if you decided to mug me on most given days...

Nike CTR360 Maestri II

I just purchased some Nike CTR360 Maestri II that are already on their way. I am currently playing in the Tiempo Legend, but am looking forward to playing in these too. The shoes are quite different, the shape, the materials and the stud configuration. I will wear it in rainy conditions especially. They should arrive in the next two to three weeks. I'll show you guys the colorway the minute they show up at my door step.

The focus on the shoe is control. It uses kanga-lite, a soft man made leather with a water-resistant finish. It has dampening pods on the instep that has the purpose of ball control and passing (skeptical to whether these work). I played in the original CTR360's, but hopefully these are an improvement. You look at players who wear them such as Iniesta and Fabregas and you instantly know exactly what type of player wears them. I am really excited to play in these boots and decide whether I am a CTR or a Tiempo man.
