Just a Taste: The Underground Cafe

The Underground Cafe is located on 20th Street just a block west of The Roxy Theatre.  I've wanted to visit there for quite a while but since they are closed on Mondays, my success has been limited until today.  The Underground is a deceivingly large coffee shop with lots of seating and great coffee and teas.  I didn't try any of their lunch options but they offer paninis and soups as well as a selection of desserts.  If you're looking for a place to study for those last few finals, stop by The Underground for a delicious hot drink in a great atmosphere.

Connected to the cafe is Beaumont Records; two businesses sharing the same space.  They have a very interesting selection of old and new artists from a variety of genres.  CD's, cassettes, and t-shirts are all for sale but the appeal of Beaumont is the many racks of vinyl.  I personally don't have a record player anymore but after seeing this selection, I wish I did!  Definitely worth a visit.

  4. Unique idea on the cafe. This has a different feel from others making it a must try. The only question is the menu, on how it fair to others.

  5. Most wine were stored underground cause it poses improvement to the overall taste of it. I'm just quite not sure if, whether it also has the same effect with the coffee and tea.

  6. The owner exerted a lot of effort in putting up this kind of concept and design in this cafe. Well, it's all rewarded cause, I've been hearing and reading a lot of positive feed backs about it.

  7. I also want to visit the Underground Café; the place looks cozy and the perfect place to read a good book with a cup of coffee. This kind of place is the setting that I want to achieve in our house, to have a cool and cozy place for tea and coffee.

  8. Nice layout for a coffee shop in my opinion. The furnishings and lights are definite winners in my book. Plus they got a ton of extra stuff too (music bar plus cool shirts equals bonus points for this joint).

  9. Nice setup for an underground music store/resto/clotheshop. I like how the fixtures and lighting are just subtle enough to add to the mood.

  10. I like it when people decide to take their cafes and spin the concept around, coming up with exciting new hangouts for people like me who want to see something new. This one takes the cake, definitely, considering how deceivingly simple yet elegant the interior was made.

  12. I like the idea of combining 2 businesses in one. This allows visitors to choose and buy memorabilia after a good taste of coffee from The Underground Cafe. The latter seems cozy which provides guests a very comfortable place to stay. I hope to visit these places soon.
