Momentum | The Parks Series

Momentum's "Parks Series" releases today at both of their locations. There will be an assortment of tees, a hoody and pins. The idea behind the collection was to draw inspiration from the lake life and nature that we are exposed to in Saskatchewan and Canada. Using Saskatchewan/Canadian staples and Momentum branding, the store was able to partner with MSTRPLN to create different graphic designs. Each shirt will have a crest logo on the front and a larger graphic on the back. My personal favourite is the maple leaf, as it resembles Montreal's 1976 Summer Olympics logo.

Indoor Skatepark Fundraiser | Burgers & Fries Night (TODAY)

Plans tonight? why not support a good cause! Join myself at The Hollows. Lets keep this positive change for the Saskatoon community!

Support Saskatoon Skateboarding! Join us on February 16th at The Hollows for a Saskatoon Indoor Skatepark Fundraiser. Burger & Fries from 6:30 to 10:00, accompanied by performances by Shakey And The Elevators, Ride Til Dawn, and a DJ set by Ian Sargent after 10:30. This is an all ages event but The Hollows is a licensed restaurant, so beer will be available for those with an ID stating that they are 19 years or older. We are really looking forward to this event, and we hope to see a great turnout for this great cause!

ALL PROCEEDS (AFTER COVERING FOOD COST) GO TOWARDS THE INDOOR SKATEPARK.

Momentum Skate Session

This past Sunday, a group of us got together to skate and celebrate the release of our first deck model. There we had food, drinks, giveaways and a classic game of SKATE. Here's a small video I put together to better show you what was going on that day.

Reigning Champ

Reigning Champ is a company based out of Vancouver, Canada. It is a house brand affiliated with Wings + Horns, underneath of CYC Design Corporation. CYC is in charge of the production of some Supreme and Alife goods just to name a few brands. Reigning Champ is well known for producing simple, minimal branding and high quality products. I personally like it because of the cuts and use of materials, whether it's a thin fleece for summer evenings or a polar tech sweater used for layering in the winter. I am proud to say that Momentum on 8th street is now carrying one of my favorite brands.

HUF Choice

I just saw these today at Momentum Marketplace. I am interested in the HUF "Choice" for skating. I am hoping it will feel like a Vans while riding. Other than the way it skates, it looks great! Black suede with a white midsole making it look clean (There are also other nice colorways). This is the first season for HUF footwear, they have introduced about four or five models this fall. I am assuming that the Choice will have good feel of the board but the durability will be much lower than the average shoe. It's still worth a try in my opinion.

Artistic abilities

Today I ran over to Momentum on 8th street to visit everyone and pick up a Kidrobot Munny, Rooz and Krink. I will struggle with this because I have very little artistic skills but this should be interesting.

BBQ 4 Cancer

The barbeque was a success, I was really glad that all local stores were trying to help us out and Single Second as well (www.singlesecond.ca). My grandpa had passed away three years ago from cancer, so to me this was very important. Thanks goes out to everyone who came and made a donation.

Momentum MKT BBQ and Skate

So this year at Momentum, the staff have created a little team. The members are all good and great guys, so tomorrow June 22 we are having a barbeque and skate session. A lot of the staff will be there, burgers are four dollars and burger and Vitamin Water is five dollars. I am planning on taking a rail and a high box, so I would love everyone to join us whether it rains or not. All proceeds will go to cancer, recently our friends father had passed away from cancer. It is sad, but it is very common so everyone do their part to help out!

Lookalike?

I was going through a Kid Robot Vinyl catalogue, while I was flipping pages I found a picture that looks exactly like my boss. I began showing other co-workers and everyone agreed with me, when I have the chance I will tell him myself. Take a peek at this as you think of Asif.

Funny how similar they look: Chinstrap, hair and glasses. I can even see him wearing this outfit. Asif do you think you it's a lookalike?
