After viewing many different Sangria recipes in books and on the Internet, I decided to make a hybrid version among all of them. Sangria is simply a wine punch. This recipe serves about five or six, I made two pitchers for six people.
Ingredients
-Barefoot Merlot
-Triple Sec
-Soda Water
-Fruit
Instructions
Chop up some fruit of your choice and toss them into the pitcher. I used apples, lemons, oranges and grapefruit to give it more of a citrus taste. I cut the fruit thinly and in small pieces, for the grapefruit I cut the skin off too. This allowed the wine and fruit to give off their flavours to one another. After all the fruit was put into the pitcher, I poured in the 750 ml of wine, a cup and three quarters of soda water and 150 ml of Triple Sec. I gave it a stir and left it in the fridge over night.
Conclusion
This was my first time every drinking or making Sangria, so I have had no standards set for it. But it tasted very good, it had a sweet citrus taste and the fruit at the bottom of my glass was delicious. I heard that most people use a Brandy, but the Triple Sec gave a nice hint of orange flavour. If I were to make this again, I would use the exact same ingredients and take the same steps as well.

How to make Fish Tacos
This meal was inspired by Pamela Salzman's blog. It is a great place to find healthy recipes. My girlfriend showed me this blog, so we decided to make a supper with the help of Pamela Salzman. After a day of watching Chopped and Eat St. we decided to make fish tacos complimented by an avocado and mango salad. Let me explain and show you how it was done.
Ingredients needed for Fish Tacos
Tortillas
White fish (ex. halibut or haddock)
Lime juice
Cumin
Olive oil
Salt and Pepper
Vegetables of your choice
Steps
We took one quarter of a cup of lime juice, two tablespoons of olive oil and half a teaspoon of ground cumin and mixed it in a bowl. We placed two pieces of haddock in a shallow and long dish and poured the marinade over it. Then we added a tiny bit of salt and a lot of pepper and let the fish sit for a half hour. After it marinated for a half hour we put it in the oven at 450 for about 10-15 minutes.
As the fish was marinading we made a sauce for it.
Ingredients needed for the sauce
Mayonnaise
Unsweetened yogurt
Lime juice
Hot sauce
Steps
We added six tablespoons of mayo, six tablespoons of the yogurt, a tablespoon of lime juice, a pinch of salt and a teaspoon and a half of Frank's Red Hot Sauce "Chile 'n' Lime". Then mix it up and refrigerate it as the fish cooks.
With a meal like this you can have any side of your choice. A lot of things go well with fish tacos: soup, salad, fries, yam fries, etc. We went with this avocado and mango salad. It went well with it because of it's fresh and sweet taste.
Conclusion
This meal was delicious, the sauce made fish tacos taste that much better. So good that I ate four tacos and a couple of servings of salad. It was also easy, fun and quick to make. Take a gander on Pamela Salzman's blog and make something to impress yourself, your family or a date.

How to Make Poached Eggs on a Bagel
Ingredients needed:
-Eggs
-Tomatoes
-Bagel
-Turkey
-Cheese
-Salt
-Pepper
First work on the poached egg. This was my first time doing it so I can explain to you how I did it. I cracked an egg into a bowl as I let water boil in a pot. When the water began to boil, I spun it. Directly after, drop the egg into the water and let it sit for about ten minutes. As you wait for the egg to cook, cut up vegetables and cheese and toast the bagel.
I used a sesame bagel and put marble cheese on it. After I put on two slices of turkey, but you can substitute it for any meat. Two slices of tomatoes were placed on top followed by the poached egg. Lastly I sprinkled some sale and pepper on the top and with a hot sauce my cousin gave us from El Salvador.

How to Make Hummus and Baked Tortillas
To make this dish you will need the following ingredients:
-Soft tortillas (I used flour)
-Olive oil
-Chickpeas
-Garlic clove
-Plain yogurt
-Lemon juice
-Salt
-Pepper
Lets begin with the hummus. Pour the can of chickpeas into a colander to drain them. After you will want to put them into a large bowl to mash them. Then we added two cloves of garlic, two table spoons of lemon juice and four table spoons of milk. We then sprinkled the hummus with salt and pepper.
For the baked tortillas you will want to cut each tortilla into easy to eat shapes. After brush them with a small amount of olive oil. You can place them on a plan and cook them in the oven at 400, we cooked them for 11 minutes.
After all of this, they should be ready to eat!

How to Make Hawaiian Vodka
With the help of my cook book I can teach you how to make a fun Summer beverage. To prepare it you will need the following ingredients:
-Ice cubes
-Grenadine
-Pineapple juice (I substituted it with tropical juice)
-Lemon
-Orange
-Vodka
First I put about four ice cubes in a large glass. Then I drizzled two tea spoons of grenadine over the ice. In a separate measuring cup, I squeezed half a lemon and half an orange into it. After I poured tropical juice into the measuring cup until it measured one cup. I poured that into the glass with ice cubes and topped it off with a shot of vodka. Lastly I stirred it well and added a lemon slice for decoration.
It was a tasty drink. Its nice to sip on while socializing and I would imagine it would be nice to drink on a hot Summer's day. I made this drink without the vodka for my little sister and she enjoyed it a lot.
