Saskatoon Blitz!

On June 9th, SLLAG (Saskatoon Love Love Anime Group) is putting on this event. It will be taking place at the Saskatoon Inn. Here you can check out things to do with comics, anime, games, sci-fi and all of that other geeky stuff! This convention can cater up to 1 500 people and there will also be special guests.

This is how pricing works:

It costs $30 for an adult or $42 for a VIP pass. The VIP ticket includes early entry, special seating and extra autograph sessions. There is even a VIP Exclusive option that costs $129 but includes a private brunch at Botanica with the special guests the next morning. Children under the age of five are free with an adult. Children under 10 cost $20 with an adult.

You can purchase tickets online or in Saskatoon at Unreal City, 8th Street Books and Comics, Amazing Stories and Next Level.

I've always wanted to experience Comic Con. Dress up like your favourite character and check it out!

Anime In a Theater

If there's one thing I'm glad that Saskatoon is doing, it's that they bring anime
movies to the theater.

Today I went to go see Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos at Galaxy. Good movie but all it did was make me wanna watch FMA: Brotherhood again (which I will be doing shortly).

Prior to the FMA movie, they had brought a few of the Bleach and Naruto movies to Galaxy and you know what? They're a good time, it's as popcorn movie as a movie can get.

If you're into anime these are worth checking out, because let's face it, we all owe these production companies some money for all the "obtaining" and streaming we do when we watch anime.

And if you think it's dumb and a waste of time and money, then that's like, your opinion man.

I definitely will be going to more of these movies. Something to do right?

Dragon Ball Z Kai

Lately my brother has been spending an hour every Saturday watching Dragon Ball Z Kai. Apparently the difference between this and the classic Dragon Ball Z is the theme song and now many "filler" episodes have been removed. Although there is controversy of whether the story has changed, only two seasons have been released. In my memory I do remember fight scenes lasting 10 episodes. But now he has begun to watch episodes on Megavideo where I now join him. It's like grade 2 all over again, watching countless hours of Dragon Ball. I forgot how much I enjoyed it all, my cousin was really into which drove me to like it as well. I have seen it all: Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT and all of the movies...in both Cantonese and English. This is also a terrible thing to do before finals because I get addicted to television series easily (I watched all Big Bang Theory and Modern Family episodes in two weeks).
