Just a Taste: Good Fortune Grand Restaurant

On Sunday, Yip Hong's and Mandarin were closed so we visited Good Fortune for our first time for dim sum. For those that are unsure of what dim sum is I will enlighten you with my knowledge of it. At home we call it "yum cha" which is Cantonese for "drink tea". Yum cha is when the employees push carts around with smaller portions of food on it. You order by dish and they write down how much it is on your tab at the table. Food does not stop coming, you just sit, eat and order.

At Good Fortune I found that the selection wasn't large, but it was quite different from other places within the city. I can't say it's better, but it is more affordable in comparison to others. Also service was pretty good and if you cannot speak Cantonese or Mandarin, their English speaking is quite good.

I'm not sure if I like the videos more than the pictures, but it was just a test. Enjoy!

The Informants

I recently came across across this blog on twitter from a few people that I follow. The Informants is a website that focuses on fashion, music and lifestyle within Canada. It's a blog presenting the latest music that they are into as well as some goodies and where to find them. If you maneuver around on the webpage you will notice that they display the Canadian stores that carry The Hundreds, G-Shock, 10 Deep, Alife and Huf (including Momentum).

And the winner is...

The contest has officially come to a close. We found it difficult choosing a winner, having to meet up and discuss on various occasions to come to a decision. It was a great experience, and we managed to receive a diverse amount of entries. Many of the photos were unique, and everyone's view of Saskatoon were creative and an overall good read. We would like to thank everyone for participating!

The homies at Provadenic and hello saskatoon are glad to announce Evan Neufeld as our winner! As promised, we will be using this as a tee graphic and a blog header.

What defines Saskatoon?  I was stumped on this topic but after leaving home for a while this past year I realized how much I love it here.  To sum it up in a word, Saskatoon is... GREAT!  Along with my love for the city, this photo relates to our beloved town through the Great Western Brewing Company (this is the side of their building) which is a symbol of the hard working, successful businesses we have that are run by people who are driven by a desire for quality products and supporting the local community.  This photo is a winner because it exemplifies my feelings towards our city and it is a creative shout-out to the many entrepreneurs who eat, sleep and breathe Saskatoon to make our city and our province a better place. -Evan Neufeld

Keep in touch with the fam, the shirts will be limited. Thanks again ya'll!

Congratulations Evan!
