Nike SB | Skate Safari

Tour guide Trick (Blake Anderson of Workaholics) takes the tourists of Los Angeles on the Nike Skate Safari. He shows the good folks famous spots, professional ballers and unintentionally the SB riders too. The P. Rod VII will be for sale on July 5. Very tight butt hole.

Nike SB | Koston x Heritage

The highly awaited Koston have finally arrived to Saskatoon. This shoe is a fusion between the Eric Koston One and the Air Max 90 that was designed by Tinker Hatfield. The colour way is known as Black/Volt (536058-003). If you don't already know, Koston is a sneaker head. He has been collecting SB's, Jordan's and Air Maxes for a long time now.

You can see the heavy influence of the AM90 from the rubber tabs, eyelets and stitching. The Koston is known for being a seamless skate shoe, so this is a big change (it may not stretch as much). I managed to try them on and not only does it look aesthetically different but feels different too, it almost feels like there is more ankle support. On the other hand, this model still takes advantage of the Lunarlon insole and will an identical board feel to the Koston.

As far as I know, these can only be found at Momentum Marketplace.

Nike SB Dunk Low x Supreme

New photos of the anniversary Dunk have been released. These will go on sale in-store and online on Thursday, followed by Friday in Japan. This is going to be a tough one to get. As per usual there is a limited quantity and people are already camped outside of Supreme stores. I would really like to get a size 8.5 if someone else also wants to wake up and try to buy these for me.

Marketplace Update

With items flowing out of our Marketplace, we will have another addition. This is the Nike SB Dunk Low "Money Cat". The money cat symbolizes luck, you may even call this sneaker the lucky cat. This pair was released back in 2007 and was actually one of two of the first Nike SB's to be sold at Momentum Marketplace. There are a couple of marks that can be easily cleaned, very little creasing and as far as I can tell there is no heel drag. These come with the original box and the second set of laces.

I figured this shoe would bring luck to someone considering that tomorrow is Friday the 13th.

For more information and other finds, visit the Marketplace.

Marketplace Update

This is the Nike SB Dunk High "MF Doom". These were released back in 2007 and were purchased at Momentum Marketplace. At this point of time, they are a bit difficult to come across. The MF Doom's are unique because of its use of different materials and textures throughout the shoe, the "SPR VLN" lace locks, Doom stitching, Doom tongue tags, designed soles and 3M hits. This pair of shoes comes with the original laces (red), lace locks, the original receipt and the black and purple SB box. The shoes are a bit dusty, but are easily cleaned and can be cleaned before purchase by request.

Look at the Marketplace to purchase or view more information.

Nike SB Dunk Low "Supreme"

It's been ten years since the original Supreme Low Pro SB. Once again they use the cement print, but this time with a red leather upper. People are still asking for an SB comeback, what are your thoughts? These will be released in June, 2012.

Nike SB Dunk Mid "Sea Crystal/Black"

This is the Nike SB "Sea Crystal", it was released this month. I couldn't not buy these. It was my first dunk purchase since the Goodfella high. This Sea Crystal is the closest thing that I will ever have to the 2004 model. In my opinion, it is much stronger than the 2009 model too. Some may say that the velcro strap was a huge loss, but I am not too upset about it.

This is what I mean, I am not ready to give up on Nike SB quite yet. With their pro models and the revamp of the dunk, it seems like they are on the right track once again! I've had them for a couple of days now, but still are unworn. Not one bit of regret with this purchase!

Let's Chat: Air Jordan vs Nike SB

I remember spending my high school days on forums and with friends always talking about the upcoming releases of Jordan's and Nike SB. Actually I still do. Most of us didn't use our Jordan's for more than street ball and our SB's for more than cruising around. It was more of a fashion statement than practicality. The discussion was always between which Nike line was better than the other.

Air Jordan
I can say that Jordan was always part of my life, whether it be owning some Jordan VII's as a child or watching Bulls' games with my cousin. Jordan's have been making sneaker heads crazy since 1985. The shoe that got me back into Jordan's was the Air Jordan Spiz'ike "True Blues", so I entered the game a bit late. Many of the Jordan silhouettes and colour ways have been influential to many footwear companies. I am still impressed with the "Grape", "Laser" and "Aqua". I can say that I like all of the first 12 models and the Spiz'ike. They look good with almost anything. I wore mine with everything, from a pair of skinny jeans to a pair of cargo shorts.

Nike SB
Nike in general has always been my athletic choice. I have preferred them for runners and soccer footwear. Being a big Paul Rodriguez fan, I was introduced to the brand after his first model. Originally, I just bought the shoes to rock and not to skate. I dabbled in high Dunks, low Dunks, Blazers and P-Rod's, Janoski's and Koston's. They are quite casual and they too have had wild models being influenced by almost anything. For example, there have been shoes designed to portray television characters and bands. Nike SB is also known for collaborating with prestigious and successful street wear companies and artists. This brand has been worn by almost everyone, fashionistas and skaters alike.

My Pick
I think my friends are going to disagree with me when I make my decision, but I am going to have to give the crown to Nike SB. I have always found their line to be more versatile in wear and useful, for both comfort and style. Their models and colour ways have been more creative in my opinion. A lot of the time, they not only use their ideas but outsource too. I feel like they fit my wardrobe much better than Jordan, but now I want to know what you guys like more between the two.

Nike SB Chronicles: Volume 1

In order to maintain and enhance a consistent buzz throughout the fall and winter months, Nike SB is prepping to debut a new video series, coined The SB Chronicles. The collection will be a three-part conglomerate, featuring team riders Youness Amrani, Chet Childress, Clark Hassler, Stefan Janoski, Lewis Marnell, Daniel Shimizu, Grant Taylor and Wieger Van Wageningen. - HYPEBEAST

This past Saturday was the first part of Nike SB Chronicles. The cool thing about this series is that people are able to view each other watching via webcam. This way everyone can see each other react to video parts. We didn't quite figure it out this time, but hopefully we will by the time Volume 2 releases. It  was a lot of fun, all of the parts were tight. There were board slides on sketchy hand rails, crazy backside nose blunts and funny personalities. The video ends with a streamed question and answer session that can be accessed by computer or mobile phone.

The shop friends and staff at Momentum Marketplace watched it at the store after hours from a laptop and television. I am personally looking forward to the volume that includes P-Rod and Eric Koston.

Statue of Liberty Dunk

I have really on skated one Nike SB, trying to keep the others as clean as possible. I saw this idea on Nixon watches this year. The Nixon Drab series had a coating that was meant to be chipped away with another colored paint underneath. Nike SB has a similar idea with the Statue of Liberty Dunk. It is a high dunk that is aqua colored and when you wear or skate the shoe, the top layer is removed. Underneath is a copper and silver paint exactly like New York's own.

I like the idea of increased wear making the shoe look better. No one's pair will look identical and will be based accordingly on skate stance and how often you ride with them. I have been impressed with Nike SB's technology and design lately.

Koston x Supreme

I have had a pretty eventful day, sitting around the house playing video games and on the Hypebeast forums. Just today on some blogs there has been a teaser released for Koston's shoe release collaboration with New York's Supreme. The model "Koston one" has not been released yet in any color ways. I have always been idolized Eric Koston ever since the Tony Hawk Pro Skater era where he rode for Girl and Es, even back then I was purchasing his pro model boards. By the blurred picture is supposed to have a few similar traits to the Nike SB Bruin, such as the low profile sole. Supreme on the other hand is famously known in the street wear industry making me believe that these sneakers are going to be difficult to come across, especially here in Saskatoon. I for one am excited to see what Nike SB and Supreme produce, being a fan of both.

Get hyped,

Little skate project

I have four shoes I've been skating lately: Adidas Gazelle, Nike SB Blazer, Vans Chukka and Adidas Campus Vulc. The plan is to give everyone a breakdown of the positives and negatives to skating each. I am excited to both write about the shoes and to skate each one. Don't expect this to happen until the rain leaves Saskatoon.

Nike SB Koston Dunk Low

Both are good compared to the recent SB's. The high ones remind me of the Olympics, but it looks like my dad and I both have the Thailand lows on our mind.

Nike SB x ACG

Nike SB and ACG have teamed up to make a new jacket. The new Storm Fit jacket will be released as part of Nike SB's Spring 2010 launch. The first colourway will be sail, urban haze and challenge red. I am hoping that Momentum MKT will receive this sexy muddabitch.

Nike SB 2010

I haven't purchased a pair of SB's since 2008, they were Goodfella high dunks. Since then there have only been a few pairs that I have been interested in. Such as the Brainwrecks, Triumvir3's, Bruins, HUF Blazers and Stefan Janoski's.

Here are some examples of this years SB's:
Nike SB Blazer "Shoe"

Nike SB Dunk Mid

Nike SB Dunk High

And my favorite of the four
Nike SB Dunk High "Oceanic Airlines" QS

Check out your local shops to find these within the year.
