K-SWISS | Lozan III (White/White/Silver)

 

I was lucky enough to receive a pair of K-Swiss Lozan III's in all white. This off-court tennis model has an all white leather upper with white branding and metal lace buckles. The shoe itself fits true to size and a good amount of width for those of you with wider feet. They are well cushioned, offer a clean look with almost any outfit and most importantly are comfortable.

I went out on this freezing cold Sunday with local photographer Brayden Elliott. We wandered around downtown taking photos, giving me the opportunity to give these a solid wear and us the chance to photograph the shoes. Brayden had the idea of shooting the shoes with a detailed background whether it was smoke coming out of an underground pipe or me kicking snow. The shots show those who are familiar with K-Swiss and new consumers what the brand's about in these detailed photos. K-Swiss to me is for the athletic people who care about fashion, those who want something they feel and look good when going to the gym or out for drinks. You don't necessarily need to be a fan of tennis or American culture to enjoy the athletic aesthetics of the footwear brand.

K-SWISS | Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

If you come from the same generation as myself you will remember K-Swiss for their "I wear my K-Swiss" jingle and their all white runners that guys wore with their cargo pants. Now the company heads back to their heritage American tennis roots for their upcoming collection. The company has been around for almost 50 years and they have made a name for themselves by producing tennis and off-court shoes.

K-Swiss looks to create shoes with the influence of country clubs, preppy style, premium materials and classic silhouettes. One thing that you can see the brand does is use their classic tennis white upper on majority of their models. The K-Swiss also utilizes a new modernized shield logo, the five stripes and rubber outsoles. The shoes are priced between $80-$120 CAD. You can find K-Swiss at our Foot Locker in Midtown Plaza.

Air Jordan XII | Taxi

The Air Jordan XII "Taxi" (130690-125) has been on the radar for many blog followers and writers. The last time we had this model was in 2008 and it was part of the Collezione Package. The original pair released in November of 1996 and was inspired by the Japanese Nisshōki flag and women's dress boots. The Taxi utilizes a tumbled white leather and black pebbled leather mudguard. I assume that these are going to sell quickly, so grab coffee and a bite and endure the cold bright and early. You know where to go, Foot Locker or Momentum.

Air Jordan V | Laney

The Jordan V "Laney" (136027-189) has been on a lot of  sneaker enthusiast's calendars since the rumour of its release. Thankfully it is true, the Laney will drop November 2, 2013. Releasing only once before, the colours and name come from Michael Jordan's high school Emsley A. Laney High School. This white tumbled leather upper sits on top of a blue and yellow midsole. Damn these look clean! You will be able to find these at Foot Locker and Momentum.

Air Jordan V | 3Lab5

The "3Lab5" Jordan V has finally reached its way to Canada ( 599581-007). I imagine that you have seen this on the internet or some sort of social media outlet. The Jordan brand decided to take the elephant print from the Jordan III and give to the V for this special project. The entire upper is an elephant print and is combined with a black and gamma blue midsole. No doubt that it's crazy but it may be worth you getting your hands on them to have a one of a kind shoe. The American release had a quick turnover for many retailers, and Ebay with a bunch of $350 shoes up for grabs.

Air Jordan V | Bel Air

After a two weeks worth of phone calls, Tweets and Instagram messages we are happy to announce that the Bel Air V's arrived (621958-090). If you were a fan of Will Smith's sitcom, you may remember that he wore the Grapes, Fire Reds and other models laceless. This is Nike's tribute to the show. Both pairs have different colours but are influenced by the show's colours. But damn, these shoes have been running through my mind all day! These will be available at stores like Momentum.

Air Jordan V | Fire Red

The Jordan V "Fire Red" will be releasing this Saturday (August 31, 2013) in Canada. This here is my favourite Jordan silhouette, accompanied by one of my favourite colour ways. I can't wait to get my hands on a pair of these! The full grain upper, black tongue and midsole have really sold the shoe to me. I remember back in 2006 when I wanted these. These will be available at Foot Locker and Momentum on 8th Street for about $200.

New Balance | 574 SPK (Black)

I just picked up these New Balance 574's a couple of days ago. If you know me personally, you may notice that I favour my beaten and discoloured Free Run 2's. I have been looking for an every day shoe so I figured that these would satisfy me. They feel great, like most runners I half sized up. If you didn't know, New Balance originally made arch supports rather than footwear. The New Balance series looks good in both shorts and pants, I recommend that you slip a pair on. You can find New Balance at stores like Momentum on 8th and Town Shoes.

Air Jordan III | Fire Red

The Air Jordan III was the first model that Tinker Hatfield designed for Michael Jordan. Michael has created many fond memories and photos with this pair of shoes. The Fire Red III features a nice tumbled leather upper with cement print accents. You can stunt on people with a pair of these at your outdoor court or at the Fringe. These will most likely be available at Foot Locker and Momentum on 8th for $200 this Saturday (August 3, 2013).

Air Jordan 1 | Shadow

The second Air Jordan model to come out this Saturday is the "Shadow" 1. A black and grey upper rests comfortably on this high (not mid top) silhouette. This model looks good on ballers and regular people alike. These will be priced around $140 and will most likely be found at Foot Locker and Momentum on 8th. If these look anything like they do in this photo, I plan on grabbing a pair for myself too.

Air Jordan IV | Toro

July 13, 2013, the "Toro" IV is one of two Air Jordan's that will be dropping this Saturday. This is a new colour way and I am sure it will be a banger. Based on photos, this shoe looks great. For about $200 you can grab this at your local Air Jordan retailer.

Air Jordan VIII | Playoffs

In 1993, Michael Jordan defeated Charles Barkley and the Phoenix Suns in these Jordan VIII's. They say that the pair releasing on June 29 is identical to the original model. For about $200 you can grab these at Foot Locker or Momentum on 8th.

Nike | Solarsoft Moccasin Woven

Just like rice and my meals, Nike's are a staple in my wardrobe. Every Summer there is something new that I need. These have to be my 2013 Summer joints, comfort over everything. These use Nike's Solarsoft technology, a cushioned sole with a ripple textured insole making it a great barefoot shoe. The upper is suede and leather, the woven stitch allows the shoe to be quite breathable too. Unfortunately this model is not available in Canada but you can easily find it online. My brother believes that this is Nike's take on the Crocs.

Air Jordan V | Aqua

This Saturday (June 15, 2013) is the release of the Jordan V "Aqua" or "Black Grape". This is the first release of this colour way on this silhouette. A black nubuck sits on the "Grape" midsole and makes quite the combination. These will be for sale at about $200 and will once again be found at retailers such as Foot Locker and Momentum.

Air Jordan 1 | Black Toe

This sneaker will bring back memories for athletes and sneakerheads alike. This Saturday, the "Black Toe" Jordan 1 will be for sale at select retailers. This model hasn't been seen since the "Old Love/New Love" pack which offered a mid-top version of this sneaker. Sitting around $140 makes it a much better price than the $2,500 1985 version!

Nike SB | Dunk Low Pro "Concord"

 Canada has been blessed with the Dunk Low “Concord”. Like the “Space Jam” Dunk, it is also based off of the iconic Air Jordan XI. The upper is a black patent leather, white mesh paneling and a white patent Swoosh all sitting on an icy purple sole. These will be available at 10 am on Saturday, May 11 at Momentum Marketplace. Please don’t start a riot!

Nike SB | Eric Koston 2 "The Legend Grows"

Eric Koston's second pro-model shoe is releasing soon and they created a fun and entertaining commercial to introduce it. Many of Nike's stars are featured in this short such as Sean Malto, Paul Rodriguez, Tiger Woods, Neymar and Allyson Felix.

Air Jordan III | Retro '88

Tomorrow morning the Air Jordan III will hit a couple of stores in the city. The US already had this release last month and it was a huge success for the Jordan brand which leads us to the Canadian drop. The shoes will be priced more than most pairs for the main reason that the "Nike Air" sits on the heel rather than the Jumpman, this hasn't been done since 1988 (hence the name). Through blogs and websites, I will tell you that many people are not planning on sleeping on these, I assume that there will at least be a few people waiting at midnight Saturday in the cold. Momentum on 8th Street will be receiving these and possibly Foot Locker in Midtown Plaza as well. Best of luck!

Air Jordan XIII | He Got Game

On March 16, 2013, "The He Got Game" XIII releases. The name comes from Spike Lee's movie "He Got Game". These will most likely be for sale at Foot Locker and Momentum for around $199.
