WakeRide 2012: MSTRKRFT

Yup. That was exactly how I anticipated MSTRKRFT. Completely mindblastic.

The shows at Wake Ride started around 5ish, me and my friends didn't get there until 8ish, by the time we had arrived L.A. Riots was playing. He did a bomb job as well.

Come 9:30 MSTRKRFT hits the stage. Decks, mixer, laptop, bottle of Crown Royal and many cigarettes, MSTRKRFT brought the heavy hits.

I was right up in front dancing until the set was over. I haven't danced like that since DJ Baby Yu.

A+ show.

WakeRide 2012 Start

Today is opening day for WakeRide 2012 down at Victoria Park.

From July 6th until July 8th you can catch some musical acts such as MSTRKRFT, LA Riots, K'Naan and/or Chali 2Na.

And I guess there's some extreme aquatic activities you can watch.

WakeRide 2012

In terms of youth culture, WakeRide has provided us with the goods in terms of summer activities and music. It's only been two years since the creation of WakeRide and they've already provided Saskatoon with acts like: The Trews, Broken Social Scene and K-Os.

Now this year they bring Canadian DJ Heavyweights MSTRKRFT and hip hop champion Chali 2na formally of Jurassic 5.

If you've been on the fence about this event, I believe now is the year to go and get down.
